These terms have been used to limit our civil rights, access to employment around children and even our ability to adopt. The issue with this is that for countless decades, gay males have been called child molesters and pedoephiles. Of course this was just a joke to most, but to some, taken as a sage piece of advice. There is an old gay joke that says “if there is grass on the field, it’s ok to play”.
